Saying Goodbye

I just wanted to take a minute to post an update. David Elisha Nale was born at 9:44am on Monday. He weighed 5 lbs. 10 oz. and had lots of golden hair. We were blessed to be able to spend time with him both in the NICU and in our room before he passed away somewhere around 3:30. We saw many answered prayers in the events of Monday, and at some point I'll be able to share more about all of that.

For now, we are at home healing from surgery and beginning to heal from the loss of such a precious little boy. We have a small graveside service planned for tommorrow through Massey Funeral Home in Jackson, NC. We have been blessed to be surrounded by family and support, and everyone at the hospital was wonderful to us.

Eventually, we will have professional photos of our time with David, but I will leave you today with one my sister took. Thank you all so much for the prayers and encouragement.

How precious. I feel the love in this photograph. I am sorry your time with him was so short. I am thinking of you. I am here if you need anything. Sweet David, I know you were met at the Golden Gates by many Angels, one being my Donny. I am sure he took you by the hand and is being a "big" brother. You are so loved.

    Love to you all, Theresa

  14. I just want to say that I LOVE YOU! You, Justin, Jonathan, and David all hold a special place in my heart. You have been an encouragement and challenge to me, as a wife, sister, and one day a mother. Know that I am here whenever you may need me day or night. I may not have always been the best sister. But I will do the best that I can. So glad to call you sister, brother, and nephews. Love you!

I'm so sorry. I saw your blog link in a forum I'm on and I'm crying just reading about your family's experience. It's great that you were able to spend those hours with him and just remember that you'll hold him again someday.
