Recently, Beth over at The Stories of A to Z did a tutorial to show how Pinterest works.
I had heard a little bit of buzz about this new site, but I didn't realize how amazing it is! I love to collect visual inspiration, and for a while now I have tried to keep many of the online things that I've come across on a Tumblr account. If you click the Inspiration Collection button in my sidebar, this is where it will take you.
Tumblr has worked ok for collecting decorating photos and things like that, but other things tend to end up in my bookmarks list which is getting entirely too long. Can I just say that I am in LOVE with Pinterest? I can collect cooking tips, homeschool ideas, decorating inspiration, and anything else that is accompanied by a photo in nice, neat categories. You can see just how all of that works in Beth's tutorial.
I am seeing endless possibilities. You can keep a collection of holiday gift ideas throughout the year, and it will save the original location of each of those along with the photo you choose. Then in November, you can just reference that board and have all of that information at your fingertips. No more searching for that recipe you saw back in June or that photo with the perfect shade of paint for your kitchen.
The best part is that you can follow your friends and others and see all of the goodies they are adding to their boards. So the you can all be inspired by one another!
Are you sold? At this point, Pinterest is still fairly new, so an invitation is required to sign up. Just check out my contacts page and send me your email address if you'd like an invitation.
